Our Staff
Joe Lishner
began dancing about 25 years ago as a hobby
and social activity. He has a broad knowledge of all forms of ballroom dancing,
but swing remains his favorite. Joe joined the studio as the accounts
coordinator after retiring as a postal clerk in Boston. He also assists teachers
with classes and helps students who come in for practice sessions when he acts
as a DJ. His enthusiasm for dance can be seen every time he enters the dance
floor.
Kathleen
began ballet, tap and jazz at age 4 and has
been performing and competing in ballroom and Latin dance since 1978. She was an
amateur and pro-am competitor in both American and International 10-dance
competitions and is registered with the
NDCA as a Pro-Am Teacher/Professional Competitor. She has performed for USABDA, The
Opera Society, National Ballroom Week, and more. Kathleen has been
teaching at the Newton Wellesley Dance Center since 1988. She continues to train
for 10-dance competition and update her performance choreography with master
coaches from around the world. In 1989 she began training and performing in
Chinese martial arts to black belt level and with Tai Chi, Chi gong and Chen
Style.
